Turf is a product service system widely used in student houses to track and fairly distribute grocery costs. It’s a tablet placed on the fridge where users register the products they take. To address the issue of forgetting to register items, students implemented facial recognition and object detection with Ailixr to improve inventory management.
• Facial Recognition: Detects the person in front of the fridge. (For the prototype, users are represented by animals.)
• Object Detection: Counts the number of items before and after someone takes them, determining the quantity taken.
• Data Processing: GPT text processing updates the inventory and sends the updated list via email or API to the Turf tablet.
